Horse Show Promotion
My old horse trainer came to me needing assistance in resurrecting an old horse show in the NW. With little to no budget, she asked what I could do to help. My marketing mind went straight to work!
First off, I love to give a project a "brand."
The most important reason branding is important to a business is that it is how a company gets recognition and becomes known to the consumers. The logo is the most important element of branding, especially where this factor is concerned, as it is essentially the face of the company.
In this project, we are skipping the logo due to time and budget. Instead of a logo, we are using ONE main graphic to make our brand. That is the above poster. I made the poster in both in print (PDF) and for the web (JEPG), theming off the title of the show "Wine Spectacular."
I took those same graphics and made a landing page for potential customers to go to and gather all the information for the show. Due to budget constraints, I offered to hosts the landing page on my hat business website, as they don't have the budget to make a website for the horse show. This actually helps me drive traffic to my website and get potential customers to see the equine hats I have for sale. A win-win on both sides!
Now that we have our show branded with print & digital graphics and landing page, we are ready to promote! This is where we use organic social media networks. One of the neat things I was able to do is make a custom graphic the URL share link, that coincides with our brand. So when people share the link, a custom graphic is displayed about the show name and date. I have been asking some key horse people to share the show post I've already written up, so all they have to is copy and paste.
Being a horse lover and former competitor, I know how much our show horses and the shows we go to mean to us. My passion lies in assisting my fellow equine peeps in enjoying their horses and showing to the fullest!
